First, I’d like to welcome Mrs. Excellency GRACE FU Vice Minister of Education, The development of Singapore and all the delegations, all the teachers and the students.
Now I’d like to inform a little bit about our high school. Hun Sen Kampong Kantuot High School is located in Svayming Village, Barkou Commune, Kandal Stung District, Kandal Province. It’s about 28 km from Phnom Penh.
There are 2,282 students in our school, female students 946 and we have 44 classes in our school now. Nowadays we have 4 classes for grade 7, 5 classes for grade 8, 6 classes for grade 9, 14 classes for grade 10, 10 classes for grade 11 and 6 classes for grade 12. Our school has 13 buildings, one office and a small bungalow for the teachers here.
Now I’d like to inform about the background of this school:
This school was built in 1964 and called SAMAY SANGKUM secondary school. At that that time we had 5 buildings with 500 students. This secondary school changed its name to Kampong Kantout High Hchool in 1970. Unfortunately this school closed the door during 1975-1979 because of Pol Pot regime and after 1979 our school opened again in 1980.
This school has opened the door again since then by Cambodian government and our present Prime Minister HUN SEN.
